Sr. Lead Web Developer

Located in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, we are a profitable fifteen year-old financial and real estate publisher looking for just such a person. Currently we are one of the largest players in our online category with nearly two million unique monthly visitors. We now want someone who will take us to the next level with their development skills and fresh ideas. The successful candidate will have "some" experience with banks, newspapers, brokers or other financial companies and information services on the Web. We're looking for a Sr. Lead Web Developer that needs a new challenge!

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, coding, testing and implementing applications software using ASP, ASP.NET, MS SQL and XML.
• Will communicate with the client/customer to understand the business needs during the development and assist with troubleshooting after implementation.
• Develop high-level system narratives, storyboards and user interface prototypes
• Develop detailed estimates for projects, including resource allocation and timelines for business requirement documents.
• Identify issues that require more attention and work to resolve issues based on an understanding of the business problem being solved
• Draw appropriate resources together in order to address technical issues
• Monitor learning progress of your peers and provide mentoring where appropriate
• Be responsive and customer service oriented to answer customer questions via phone, email, etc. during the engagement
• Work with marketing teams to clarify requirements and business needs
• Work in team environment with management staff, marketing and development staff on new products
• Contribute as thought leader to the analysis and strategic development efforts
• Some travel to trade shows: 2-3 days, 1-2 times/year

Requirements

• Qualified candidates must have demonstrated experience working with the .NET Framework and especially with Active Server Pages and ASP.NET
• Best candidate will have experience with object oriented programming and have "some" experience with XML, XSLT, CSS, DHTML, HTML and JavaScript
• Programming with MS SQL Server; knowledge of database management, database manipulation via ASP and ASP.NET. Oracle knowledge is a plus but not a requirement
• Ability to work to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Must be able to work within a team environment and work with little supervision day to day
• Experience in working as a team member in software development teams and managing implementation projects that utilize Microsoft web based technologies
• Experience with development styles that use usability best practices
• Be able translate business requirement documents into technical specifications in order to develop WEB applications
• Knowledge of version control methods and applications (VSS) is desired, but not a requirement
• Proven ability to think strategically while understanding project execution and deliver results.
• Experience with consumer financial information, online information services, media buying and web traffic analysis highly desirable.
• Experience in leading and mentoring team members in delivering high-quality results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• 4+ Years in application development
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

We now need someone who will take us to the next level with their marketing skill, fresh ideas and new products. The successful candidate will have some experience with banks, newspapers, brokers or other financial companies and information services on the Web. Located in the western suburbs, we're looking for a web savvy marketing person that needs a challenge!

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement business plans, forecasts and results tracking and next step follow-up
• Identify and grow new opportunities to meet and exceed our overall business goals
• Work in team environment with management staff and marketers on new products
• Manage and expand multi-channel customer/advertiser effectiveness strategies
• Contribute as thought leader to the analysis and strategy development efforts
• Support in negotiations and planning meetings
• Research/study market trends in online competitive financial information
• Some travel to trade shows and customers: 2-3 days, 6-8 times/year

Requirements

• Solid understanding of relationship marketing, direct marketing, Web marketing concepts, applications and business practices
• Should have a firm understanding of SEO and SEM best practices.
• Proven ability to think strategically while understanding project execution and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with consumer financial information, online information services, media buying and web traffic analysis highly desirable.
• Experience in leading and mentoring a team in delivering high-quality results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
